Looking forward to this? Seriously?
"I must announce that the Zionist regime (Israel), with a 60-year record of genocide, plunder, invasion and betrayal is about to die and will soon be erased from the geographical scene," Ahmadinejad said.
"Today, the time for the fall of the satanic power of the United States has come and the countdown to the annihilation of the emperor of power and wealth has started," the hard-line president said.
Here's the link to the little bastard.
So, here we have this little guy running around in his Member's Only jacket still threatening Israel, and still calling the United States "Satan."
Here comes this guy, who think we can actually talk to this asshat. He goes and says something like this:
"Obama announced that, if elected, he wouldn't ask Iran to comply with UN resolutions as a precondition for direct talks with Ahmadinejad: 'Preconditions, as it applies to a country like Iran, for example, was a term of art. Because this administration has been very clear that it will not have direct negotiations with Iran until Iran has met preconditions that are essentially what Iran views, and many other observers would view, as the subject of the negotiations; for example, their nuclear program.'"
Here's the link.
That's nice. Let's piss off our European allies, and then get Russia and China to dislike us even more than we already do. Obama, and the Democrats in general, have stood on becoming more "respectable" to the global community and agreeable with our European allies. However, this doesn't sound more agreeable, to be honest. This sounds like the other end of the spectrum, but with the same results.
I'm so tired of the fainting and Christlike anointing already invoked by everybody in the media from Rolling Stone to Watching America.
Obama is no savior, guys. He's an empty suit run by powerful liberal backers and the mainstream media. If you want to live in a Socialist country, go live in China. I hope his candidacy, over the next 150 days, will be fought bitterly. I know I'll be fighting the good fight. I don't feel like having my taxes raised, letting illegal immigrants live off of me, or letting those who feel like they are entitled to the best things in life that don't work their ass off for it (like me).
Sorry folks. Won't be on that bandwagon.
...but that doesn't mean I'll be on this bandwagon, either.

7 rants:
Must be an election coming up soon or something...
Sometimes, a country needs a leader. Just a leader, someone who can help it re-organize, and heal. We're there, man. And I think he's the one to do it.

Leader.
What's he led? Just because he's been a politician on the national stage for three years doesn't make him a leader. It doesn't make most of the others leaders, either.
Re-organize.
By organizing the largest tax increase in US history? By increasing the power of the federal government exponentially? Sorry man, I don't buy that, either.
Heal.
Uh, no. He can't even heal the rift in the Democratic party. Of course, 150 days is a long time to make things happen (or to screw things up considerably), so we'll see.
And don't tell me his prior associations with Wright, William Ayers, and Tony Rezko isn't fair game, because all of that is in play.
Politicians always talk about healing and unity. None of them tell the truth. The "Empty Suit" is no different.
So who do you support ... the Libertarian candidate? I understand that you have repudiated your prior allegiance with Bush.
It's easy to point fingers ... harder to come up with viable solutions. I'm guilty of that too btw.
It's easy to point fingers ... harder to come up with viable solutions.
Actually, I can come up with some:
No demeaning of our troops in Iraq (Reid: "The surge has failed," and "the war is lost" comments).
Fiscal Responsibility, supporting Tax Cuts.
Energy Independence. YES, THAT MEANS DRILLING IN THE CONTINENTAL US AND OFF OUR COASTS.
No nationalization of healthcare. EVER.
School vouchers for children, which means choices for where parents want their kids to go to school.
Securing our borders, whether that means strictly putting up fences and vigorously patrolling the borders. NO COMPREHENSIVE BILLS.
There's mine. That's my viable solution. Truthfully, the majority of Americans would probably like to see those, too.
Of course, we could always increase taxes, pass the Cap and Trade legislation, then pay $6.00 a gallon for gas, or more.
Of course, I don't have to come up with viable solutions, to be honest. I'm not running for President. ;)
So who is your candidate then ... Pat Buchanan?
And really, do you think that drilling an oil source that has peaked is going to solve our energy problems? How about demanding that the big companies that the Conservatives trip over themselves to protect come up with affordable hybrid vehicles that will actually work rather than trying to lead us along that the poorly thought out "hydrogen car" is just around the corner each year?
How will tax cuts, school vouchers, border control, and allowing people to drive up our health costs by forcing them into the ERs rather than covering them with nationalized health care fix the problems that the Conservatives have worsened in the last 8 years by ignoring while pouring all of our money into a hole in the Middle East? And how is stating that a war is a bad idea "demeaning the troops"? Are you saying that dissent is unAmerican or not patriotic? The Founding Fathers may disagree with that as they were quite the hell raisers themselves.
Seriously. ... or soemthing :-)

He isn't running.

Yes. I do.

Like this one? Oh, and it looks like it's not too far off.

Tax Cuts
School vouchers are a good thing. The Wisconsin Supreme Court thinks so, too. Link
By giving the choice to parents instead of giving our tax money straight to the school systems, education would improve because, quite frankly, schools AND teachers would have to improve their responsiblity. By the way, don't try and turn that into a knock on all teachers. Hopefully, you wouldn't do that.
Driving up health costs, now? What do you think forcing people into a government run nationalized health care plan is going to do? That's right, it's going to do this.
And how is stating that a war is a bad idea "demeaning the troops"? Are you saying that dissent is unAmerican or not patriotic?
You should know I'm not going to step into that one. Not because I actually believe that, but the exact opposite. Disagreeing with the war in Iraq is based on a fundamental tenet of our life as American citizens. More power to ya. Freedom of speech is a beautiful thing.
However....when shit like this and this is said to enhance their own political status, it becomes extremely frustrating. By the way, the surge did work, and it wasn't so cold-blooded after all. Wonder if Murtha will apologize? Probably not.
By the way, notice how I didn't use anything from Fox in there? Bet you did notice!
Yes, I did, you should get a cookie. :-)
