Disgusting People
Several months ago, I blogged about the personal responsibilities a father has to the children he helps bring into this world. I wrote about how, unfortunately, divorce is a reality many parents (and their children) must face. You can check out the blog here.
What makes it even harder is when the child has a serious disability, and the father isn't willing to do everything he can to ensure the child is taken care of. The father doesn't have to like the fact he is helping his ex-wife, but when the health of his child is in question, the point is moot.
I'm not blogging because this is unfair to his ex-wife. She's more than capable of handling her own responsibilities and needs.
This is completely unfair to his son.
You remember him, right, "dad?" The one with a G-tube and a myriad of developmental problems? The one who smiles like there is nothing in the world he couldn't do?
I hope you prove me wrong, and take some responsibility for your child. If you do not, then you are a repugnant, disgusting human being. You do not deserve any happiness if you make it impossible for your child to live out his life without care and/or concern.
Disgusting, indeed.

4 rants:
Couldn't agree more. Spot on.
That child, and all children with Charge Syndrome are wonderous. I know as I have one fast asleep upstairs. Jacob's Mum. London, England.
Jacob's mum, thanks for your words of agreement. I work in a field with individual's diagnosed with mental retardation/developmental disability (MR/DD for short) and had never heard of CHARGE Syndrome until I read about Max. Now I realize this is a pretty significant issue (well, I know it's significant for parents whose children are diagnosed). I hope everything goes well for you and Jacob. Take care.
Thanks for bringing this to light..
I work with kids with disabilities myself.
The pro-abortion folks who want to abort based on the possibility of a disability should work with kids with a disability, and see that they are not ogres, nor disposable masses of flesh, but human beings.
Thank you, Leo. You're absolutely right.
